Mt Pisgah, PA and shadows

Easter today, a time for me to be in creation. When I asked my Android what State Park was the nearest, it responded with Samuel Lewis State Park also known as Mt Pisgah. When I had first seen churches with that name in the Southeast USA, I looked up the Biblical history since these churches were all of different denominations. Turns out that Pisgah means peak. Moses stood on the peak, Pisgah, of Mt Nebo to get a view of the Promised Land! So here I am this beautiful Easter Day in PA taking in the amazing views of the Susquehanna River and miles of beauty that surrounds it-awed again!

As I am taking in the beauty of creation, I notice the clouds casting shadows upon the landscape. For the first time, I realize the message for me is to focus on the beauty of creation and our Creator, not upon the shadows that I perceive as difficulties which pass sometimes more quickly than their arrival. Perhaps my perception of time is inappropriate, as in the past it may just have seemed like the difficult times lasted longer than than pleasant times. The difficult times pass, as do the pleasant times; all being part of our life’s journey. I believe all is in Divine and perfect order even though my finite mind is unable to perceive how the Divine works always towards that purpose for all of us. Let’s be in the blessings of the moment, moment by moment, not in the shadows.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Just what might happen if you did this? Why not try it and see?

“Come, step back from your close view of the obstacles that seem to surround you. Close your eyes to them for a while and create a new picture. Leave the past and the present out of your consideration and make a new life, a new day, beginning with tomorrow. Build it up part by part in your mind and in your conversations and contacts with those around you until you have a perfect picture of the future that is just beyond today’s horizon. Then step forward bravely into this picture; and with determination start your journey along the line that leads to your new life. You will find yourself master of the picture and of those realities, and you will find in it the greatest happiness and rewards, and every effort, every thought devoted to it.” H. Spencer Lewis

Happy 2019!

I have been doing some online courses as I stay with Toni in Hot Springs, MT as she recovers remarkably from surgery. I am most taken with JulieRenee.com whose masterful teachings totally resonate with me. Today I found an interesting free portion of her website at http://julierenee.com/miracle-miraculous-legacy-lady-lourdes/. Perhaps you might want to peruse some of the other numerous free blogs, meditations, video, and music on the site. I also got certified as a Ho’Oponopono Practitioner. So much to learn and experience on this planet Earth of ours. And Quadrantids meteor shower tonight! Much light, life and love to all!

Food for Thought

“Never forget that every time we move onward, the whole of Humanity does so with us. Let us walk on into the life that is real, the one that is not limited to our own, nor to the time that we have in this incarnation; let us walk on into that infinite space where everything becomes possible. In the life that is “real,” we have unlimited access to a great universal power. Once we become aware of what this “real” life is, we are holding the key that gives access to all the answers we are looking for, as well as to happiness.” Christian Bernard

Helpful questions to ask Rangers

The Rangers at National Park Service Units are very helpful and knowledgeable, so we need to know the right questions to ask before visiting. After visiting 386 of our NPS units, tent camping along the way, my list of questions include: where the Passport Stamps are located, is there a video (usually there is and most are very good), are there any Dark Sky programs (Great Basin and Theodore Roosevelt NP had great ones), what State Parks or campsites are close by that have hot showers and perhaps electric, are there any current trading stamps or Share the Experience postcards available, are there Junior Ranger booklets (for grandchildren), is there WiFi available (some units do have WiFi), are there any hot/warm mineral springs close by, are there any rockhounding locations close by, and is there an Aldi Market or Wal-Mart nearby? Please bring your empty water bottles and fill them up at NPS units to save plastic from harming Mother Earth (most all units have bottle refill stations). You’ll get the most from your visit by asking these questions! If you’re a Senior, get your lifetime pass and enjoy the adventure, as admission is free for your carload and camping is half-price using the card. Did you find your Park yet?

National Park Travelers Club

For those who’ve been following my adventure, you may be interested to know that there is a National Park Travelers Club which I discovered in February 2018. They are reasonably priced in their dues at $10 for first year and $5 per year thereafter. They have an abundance if useful information and are very helpful and supportive. If you think you might like to “Find your Park”, joining would be beneficial. Once you’re a member, you can record your visits and gain Passport Stamp info on their stampad site, too. I earned my Gold award having been to 386 NPS units! It’s fun!

Train

Received this beautifully motivational writing today and want to share it with all of you:

At birth we board a train and meet our parents. We believe they will always travel by our side. However, at some station, our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.

As time goes by, other people will board the train, and they will be significant – siblings, friends, the love of your life, children, and many others. Some will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we won’t realize they vacated their seats.

The train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, good-byes, and farewells. A successful ride requires having a good relationship with all passengers. We must give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is, we do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life. Reap success and give lots of love. More importantly, thank God for the journey.

Lastly, I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train.

Reaping

Do we not get the message? Adults demonstrate their lack of respect on all forms of media consumed by young people. Young people are being taught by example to hate and disrespect others who don’t agree with their view; but, young people actually physically confront/bully others. They haven’t the sense to stop at the ugly words of hate they hear from adults and media. Even being passengers in their parent’s cars, where a parent cusses and swears, perhaps also accompanied by an obscene gesture, when another driver makes a dumb move-that child present in the car is being taught intolerance and judgment with rage upon the other driver. Wake up, people! When seeds of hatred, intolerance and disrespect are sown, they poison all including themselves. Plant seeds of love, tolerance, respect for differences to REAP a better world where bullying is not even considered an option. Show by example tolerance for differences in opinion without condemnation and judgment! None of us is perfect-so stop hurling your angry and intolerant behavior into the world, as if it is beneficial to anyone. Thanks for reading this. I would really appreciate it if anyone can tell me anything beneficial from the judgments placed on others because we disagree. Don’t the judgments stop dialogue where the actual issue could be addressed with creative solutions or perhaps “agreeing to disagree”?🌏🙏😇

Mid-September to October 22, 2018

Been awhile since I’ve posted-time does seem to fly by! Visiting with cousins in PA & NJ, brother and sister-in-law in NY, friend and his girlfriend from CO who were visiting in NY, and friends Olga and Vicki in NY, too. Then received call from friend in MT needing my assistance and in MT now to assist her as she regains strength from hip replacement surgery.

What a treasure life is! To share company with cousin Val and her friend Glenn in adventures of daily life and special outings. Time with cousin Dorothy and her friend Geoff brought delicious meals, attendance at Antiques Road Show presentation, experiencing Dorothy’s pipe organist skills at church, attending 2 worship services on World Communion Day (which meant for the first time in my life I had 2 communions on the same day), having Italian food at Mia’s and David’s first home. Lots of love and laughter shared-fun!

Before leaving PA on Friday, 10/12, to Taj Mahal for lunch with Val and Glenn-thanks for the fun times! Arrived in MT on 10/16 having enjoyed the drive and views in PA, OH, IN, WS, snow through MN which was really quite beautiful, ND with a low is 18 degrees, and through the beauty in MT.

Crazy sense of humor?!
