Rainy and continuing through Tuesday, but headed to Shenandoah, Luray Caverns, in VA then Harper’s Ferry in NE section of WV. Shenandoah is still about an hour away. Traveling through rainy weather afforded some interesting pics of beautiful mountains. Quiet day of travel today was. Harmony truck was just fun-probably a bigger message in getting along and creating harmony on this planet.

Appomattox, Petersburg & Richmond VA
Ranger presentation at Appamatox so well I could visualize Lee & Grant meeting to discuss the terms of surrender, laying down of arms, Confederate soldiers receiving their very important parole paper and heading home. I can almost “see” into the strong yet tender heart of President Lincoln desiring the healing of our new nation-and then he was shot.
Petersburg and Richmond, too, with all that fighting. The state of Virginia is covered with battlefields! Confederate soldiers fought for home & family, for Liberty, for slave labor which was the backbone of the Southern economy, for honor & duty. Union soldiers fought to preserve the Union and liberties granted in the constitution, for emancipation, and for honor and duty. Greater than 700,000 fought and died in the Civil War.
Can we now live in peace on earth?I am wondering if all nations could agree to a technology-based war, if it was found necessary, rather than physical wars with loss/harm to lives and earth, and untold quantities of resources spent on physical wars. What wonderful things might we create from those resources now devoted to offensive and defensive forces?
Miracle: iTunes recognizes iPhone in windows 10
iTunes recognizes iPhone in Windows 10 for first time since March 17 thanks to Apple rep Tomekah, wifi from WalMart in Leland NC, the universe for guiding me-seamless miracle. While it would appear that this is NOT a big deal, I spent at least 10 hours trying to solve it over the past month. Here, finally, the solution arrived-I am so grateful! The still, small voice, which I know as an audible intuition, conspired to lead me to a WalMart, work on my laptop since I was going back to Moore’s Creek Visitor Center tomorrow because it was closed today. When I started working on my laptop, up popped WalMart asking me if I wanted to join to use their wifi, to which I logged in and was hooked up to wifi. Then I was led to search for an Apple Store, called the third number given, waited on hold for about 15 minutes. When Tomekah got on the line, she asked for permission to help me remotely. Again, yes that would be great was my response. After about 25-30 minutes, there it was-iTunes recognized my IPhone and I could back it up on my laptop. The wifi stayed intact throughout the entire transaction! Another miracle looking like it was just any other Transaction; but, I know what it took for it to happen. Grateful, I am.
Totally Turtle at Myrtle Beach 5/7

Totally awesome morning at MyrtleBeach State Park’s Totally Turtles! Program. It rained again last night, but a soothing rain.Awake early and a bit chilly at 57 degrees. I listened to a talk and meditation on Amashic records, dressed, and took decaf to the beach. When I parked a cute little bunny scurried across the pathway quicker than I could take a picture. The warmth of the sun feels soooo good! Back to campsite by 8 a.m. for second decaf with honey, a little cocoa, and half-and-half.
After checking out the Turtle program, I decided to start at the fishing pier for “can you spot a sea turtle”. Secondly at shelter B3 the program “lifecycle of loggerhead turtles”. Third, “Sizing Up Turtles”. And, last but not least, “Data Behind DNA”. Wrote out some postcards. Met new campsite neighbors from site 288. Two sisters, one 9 years old, the other was just turning 7 celebrating her birthday by camping here with grandparents and parents. Bright and full of life the little girls are.
- By 9:30 it was 63 degrees. Mailed the postcards at the Ranger Station. On my way to the Turtles program, a red cardinal flew just in front of my car. I parked by the fishing pier ready to start the program. I love the program as I walked the boardwalk, stopping to take a selfie at the oversized chair and then continuing. I looked all around for the volunteer in a blue shirt but found none. I found two women talking about the shark in the waters close to the end of the pier since fisherman throw out their excess bait there. After a brief chat with Mary, we decided to head to Shelter B.

Still got out the beach mat and tried to take a nap even though dark clouds were approaching – I love the beach! I thought all jelly fish sting-I was wrong again. Blessed this day by Kim and her fam changing the fuse I blew in car-blessings on her and the fam. She’s moving from Detroit to Myrtle Beach. Her dad taught her car maintenance and repair stuff and she taught her kids-may they be blessed for their kindness!
Walked the boardwalk and observed fisher people. [ I don’t think appropriate to say fishermen when a number of girls were fishing.] tomorrow is Totally Turtles from 10-2. I’m looking forward to it! At some point I’ll post about Charleston/Fort Sumter, Charles Pinckney (signer and contributor to Declaration of Independence), Congaree,Dreyer Island State Park, Musgrove Mill, Hatcher Garden & Reserve, and last but not least, Prosperity and my Spartanburg adventure.

Still having fun after taking my car, Pearl, in for driver-front wheel bearing and induction Svc in Spartanburg SC. Hatcher Gardens and Musgrove Mill delighted me. Then I decided, too, that pink roses would be an ideal bouquet for my road trip! The Enoree River is quite interesting, certainly more than that for the 5 turtles on a rock sticking up out of the water. SC Ranger at Musgrove Mill shared that she once had a volunteer doing maintenance/cleaning who did it in her full -length mink coat! I will arrive in Prosperity in about 22 minutes! How do I know, you ask? GPS says arrival in Prosperity, SC at 9:04!

Nice hike to see and experience these war sites. I guess I didn’t pay enough attention in school, but now I find it interesting. I try to imagine what it must have been like for citizens: to decide whether to support Britain or their new United States, to fight against your neighbors if you’d chosen different sides, to being so outraged at Britain’s tortuous treatment as to walk hundreds of miles to go into battle, to be a woman who was with Ferguson and killed even though she wasn’t even in the battle- and so much more! To look at where we are now as a country as compared to the original design and what must be done to correct it. So much to ponder!

The tears came down as I left my daughter’s fam today-we had such a great time!
I’m back on the road trip of my life! To Guilford Courthouse/ Revolutionary war site-how did I not know 1) that slaves were offered freedom if they fought in their master’s stead; only to have the master go back on his promise, 2) Quakers, who wouldn’t engage in any war activities, cared for the injured on both sides, (see vid below) 3) the actual Courthouse cannot be found, 4) a body of one of the signers is actually only half a body- the other half is buried elsewhere, 5) history does seem to get rewritten over time. Heavy downpours with a heavenly light show going on quite amazing (see vid below) at Kings Mtn SC-campground closed early because fallen trees prohibited entry and exit! On my way in, there was a young couple with flashlights shining about. When I stopped to ask if they were okay, they responded affirmatively also offering that they were watching frogs! Ranger advised me to move out of Kings Mtn because of the danger of falling trees and go to WalMart. The drive was only about 15 minutes with the heavenly light show above me. Enjoying using my solar blow up light this evening, pic below.
I didn’t publish this and am adding to it around 6 am. There is a lady bug on my driver’s side front imagewindow on whom I’m doing Ho’oponopono. Had my yogurt and berries for breakfast. It’s 66 degrees but cloudy so sunrise won’t be visible to me. Let’s all create a beautiful day for ourselves!

It’s been delightful visiting with my daughter’s family in NC. Grandchildren are sooo fun! So, I’ve been here for two weeks enjoying family. On Sunday, 5/1, I’m heading out to Sites in theNational Park System in North and South Carolina. So much to experience on this earth!
Been pondering what messages to place on my car. Fear, in my opinion, sets up in the universe the conditions to create that which we do not desire. The universe seems to acknowledge positive input while ignoring the negative. For example, when my children were young I modified all my instructions to be stated positively; rather than, “don’t spill your milk”, it became “keep your milk in the cup”. Sure you don’t see the difference to begin with- but working on it will reap benefits. It’s a matter of focusing on what you want to create, rather than what you don’t want to create. So how do I put that in a short phrase that notifies/reminds us all that our thought creations are important, very important?

As I awoke yesterday, the words “Fear no evil” were impressed upon me. I had been asking for guidance on what new phrase to write on my car windows as I journey about the USA in the Road Trip of my Life. Was this the answer?
Right now on my rear passenger side window, it reads, Think no evil. It’s patterned after the carved Monkeys that represent hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. I had those 3 monkeys as a child continually until I sold my house in November 2015. But, in AZ it came to me that if we think no evil, hearing, seeing, and speaking no evil would naturally follow.
However, since yesterday morning I have been reminded of the 23rd Psalm and numerous scriptural admonitions to “Fear Not”. I have understood for quite some time that fear is directly opposed to faith. What I believe may be happening is that the presence of fear sets up the conditions in the universe for our fears to be realized. Thus, I should be focused on creating in my mind’s eye what I desire-pleasant surprises to enjoy with a healthy body and sound mind. More later. . .
Create heaven here and now

I’ve been on the road now since I left my daughter’s in NC on 12/19/2015. It’s not always easy to get wifi and update this site, but I will post periodically when I can. But, you can follow me on Facebook under the user dlwinslowny.
Perhaps you came to this website because you saw my car with the website’s name. Or perhaps you’re here because you’re a Facebook friend. If you would like to see pix and posts from the road trip of my life, on Facebook I am dlwinslowny.
Each one of us creates heaven on earth for ourselves and others in our thought life and in our actions.
When I was around 10 or 11 years of age, I was given three carved monkeys that represented, “hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil”. One morning in AZ, I saw 3 birds sitting atop a street light. For some reason, the thought of my three carved monkeys came to mind. Along with it came the idea that in thinking and expressing our emotions, we get to choose what we do with them. If it is true, and I believe it to be so, that our thoughts and emotions are our creations then we get to choose what we create! We can choose to create beneficial or detrimental thoughts and emotions when we correct our processing of the transaction within us. Thus, I add the expression, “think no evil” to the messages of my three monkeys. I believe that in thinking no evil then seeing, hearing, and speaking no evil might naturally follow. More to follow. . .
Foxes in the Henhouse?

IMPORTANT/PLEASE give me your feedback!
For quite some time I have had the feeling that I, as a citizen of this great country, have failed to take action because I didn’t know what action to take to get our legislators to truly be the voting voice of the citizenry. I voted, but that is not enough. How do we take back the power that is actually ours as citizens? USA is supposed to be a democracy not a bureaucracy!
Who are the foxes that are in our henhouse? Our legislators! We voted the foxes into the henhouse. Our failure to monitor their self-serving ways allowed it to be. So, how do we undo this mess?
-We cannot allow legislators to have more than one term. It was never intended that legislators in a democracy would have a lifetime occupation.
-We cannot allow legislators to be paid more than the average salary of a working US citizen.
-We cannot allow legislators to give themselves raises and benefits that exceed what what the average of a working US citizen.
-We cannot allow legislators to exclude themselves from medical coverage that the working citizenry receives in favor of a plan they create for themselves.
-We cannot allow legislators to be paid benefits for life other than those offered to all US working citizens.
-We cannot allow legislators to give themselves pay when their job is not done and they are not even present to do their jobs. (Working citizens lose their jobs if they don’t do their jobs.)
-We cannot allow the power to be vested in legislators without accountability to the American public.
-We cannot allow Washington, D.C. to write their own laws and exclude their territory from legislation commonly enacted in all other states.
-We cannot continue to add new laws without actively removing those that are no longer being enforced. (Perhaps repeal two that are no longer enforced for every one that is passed?)
With elections coming soon, the executive branch will be what it will be, the least offensive to the majority. For the legislative branch, I only will vote for those who agree to pass an amendment within 6 months that specifies those items enumerated above are supported. If someone else can provide a better idea, I would love to hear it! Right now, I can almost hear our forefathers turning in their graves-we must take action!

Since my brother Bruce and I have never lived more than 10 miles from each other except for college, we agreed to meet in Florida in February. Beverly Hills, of course! Yes, In Florida there is a Beverly Hills and Hollywood, too! No, we’re not Beverly Hillbillies. So, on the news were manatees, which led Bruce, his wife Anna, and I to go to Crystal Springs-Three Sisters- to unwrap the gifts it holds for us. Took the trolley from the Visitor Center to the springs. We were wowed!

The Newest Part of the Journey Begins!
After closing on the sale of my house on Friday, November 6, I stayed with friends until all the minutiae of the finances were straightened out. On Wednesday, I headed down to my cousin’s in Lancaster, PA to have fun visiting and work on genealogy. From there, I headed to my oldest brother’s in Mechanicsville, MD to have fun visiting and share in the preparation and feasting at their Thanksgiving table. Then it was to my daughter’s in NC enjoying an early Christmas-spirited time with the family before heading to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which actually started in Cherokee NC.
